The hour itself

What happens in a service.

A service usually opens with a few minutes of quiet. On most Sundays a worship team leads the singing — a mix of psalms, older hymns and newer songs, generally with piano and guitar.

We begin with praise, then move to confession: an honest admission that we need Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and the assurance that in him we are forgiven. There is prayer for the congregation and for the world, a reading from Scripture, and a message from the pastor that tries to be both faithful to the text and useful on Monday.

There is an offering during the service. You are a guest; please don’t feel any obligation to give.

Communion is celebrated on the last Sunday of each month. All those who follow Christ and want to serve him to the best of their ability are welcome at the table.

Children under 3

Nursery care with screened volunteers. Check in before the service at the desk by the sanctuary doors.

Ages 3 to 10

Sunday School. Children stay in for the opening songs, then are dismissed together.

Hearing & sight

Hearing assistance devices and large-print Bibles from any usher. Children’s bulletins too.

Mobility

Step-free entry at the main doors, accessible washrooms, and space for wheelchairs in the sanctuary.
